World Environment Day is the United Nations’ main vehicle for encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the environment. Over the years it has grown into a broad, global platform for public outreach that is widely celebrated by companies, organizations and individuals in over 100 countries. It also serves as the ‘people’s day’ for doing something positive for the environment, galvanizing individual actions into a collective power that generates an exponential positive impact on the planet.

All these photos were entered into the 2013 Wonderful Water photo contest. Last June Save Water Save Money Ltd in association with Waitrose, Digital Photography Magazine and Photography for Beginners Magazine offered the chance to win two tickets to the Hope4Apes charity dinner at the Savoy Hotel for the best ‘wonderful water’ photo.
